Research

What is the Applied Research and Education division?
Our goal is to support good decisions about practices and services by collecting quality information and sharing information in a helpful way. Our work is always focused on what works best for children/youth and their families, as well as the people providing service.
How does research help my child?
Research helps us to improve our methods. In partnership with interRAI and Dr. Shannon Stewart (Western University), CPRI is developing a suite of child and youth assessment tools. These tools are currently used in our intake and ongoing assessment process. Our assessment system helps your child get to the right system at the right time for the right service. If you want, you can share that information with other services outside of CPRI to help them better understand your child’s needs.
Will you use my child in research?
We may ask if your child can take part in research. This is completely voluntary, which means we need informed consent from you or your child before we can include your child’s information in our research. You do not have to say yes. If you say no, your child will still receive service and will not be treated any differently. If you say yes, you can ask more questions or change your mind at any time.
