About Us
Who does Intensive (Residential) Services help?
We have 5 residential units for children and youth age 6 to 18 with complex mental health and developmental challenges. Your child's issues are serious enough that they are causing problems at home, school, or the community. We are a tertiary service, so we treat children and youth whose needs are more than services in their own community can meet.
Our Residential Units are:
Pratten 2 South – males/females age 6-18
Unit 4 – males age 13-18
Unit 5 – males/females age 6-12
Unit 6 – males/females age 6-13 with a developmental disability
Thameswood – males/females age 13-18 with a developmental disability
Pratten One – 10 short-term spaces for males/females age birth-18 years with complex developmental and medical (including technological dependence) needs
What does Intensive Services do?
We provide short-term highly specialized and individualized consultations, assessments and treatments for children and families. Our treatment is tailored to you and your child's specific needs and goals. We are an interdisciplinary service, so our team is made up of many different professionals working together.
Our first step is assessment, a CPRI staff will meet with your family in your home community first. After that our team will do a full clinical assessment at CPRI. We will talk about your child and family's needs and goals and the risks and benefits of treatment.
If your child is admitted, we will work with you and your child to design a treatment plan to work towards their goals. You will be part of the planning and learning all the way through your child's treatment.
Length of stay is based on client need and during the school year, children participating in intensive services can attend school at Madeline Hardy School or St. Thomas Aquinas Secondary School.
Where does this happen?
The residential units are located at CPRI in London. Some services may take place in your home community. Find out more on our kids page
