Archived Webinar (Original Date: November 8, 2017)
Presented by: Dr. Michelle Ponti, MD, FRCPC, Paediatrician
Screen-based media are a constant presence in the lives of young children—from devices and apps created for them, to their parents’ smartphones. What limits should parents place on screen use for babies and young children? Does using digital technology in the early years have lasting physical, cognitive or developmental effects? What advice should clinicians provide to families? This webinar highlights current research on the potential risks and benefits of screen based media use in the early years, and reviews the Canadian Paediatric Society’s new guidelines to help paediatricians counsel parents.
